          Job Description: Territory Sales Rep, Inside/Outside Turf Sales

Gertens Wholesale and Professional Turf, the leading supplier to golf course superintendents, sports turf managers, park supervisors, lawn care operators and arborists is looking for a Landscape Turf Inside Sales Representative to grow and expand the business. This ideal candidate will have a background in commercial turf and landscape sales.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build positive relationships with customers providing excellent customer service through greeting, reporting, and follow-up, regularly.
  • Process inside sales transactions, enter orders, and process paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Develop and communicate customer quotes.
  • Process outgoing and incoming shipments.
  • Operate forklift.
  • Stock product.
  • Maintain a clean store environment.
  • Utilize systems to maintain merchandise and inventory control
  • Provide support to Gertens’ sales staff.
  • Perform daily store opening and closing procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of punctuality and regular attendance.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Specifically; Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Must be able to perform basic math functions and read/comprehend written procedures.
  • Knowledge of turfgrass fertilizers, chemicals, grass seed, and plant health care
  • Must possess strong organization skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Customer service experience, desired.
  • Ability to lift 50-60 lbs., regularly.
  • Ability to become fork lift certified.

General Manager/Operations/Sales Position:
Superior Turf Services Inc is looking for a General Manager/Operations/Salesperson.  We are a local distributor of soft goods in the golf course, sports turf, and lawn care industries. For 19 years, we have built our business with a continual focus on customer service and support, in the process demonstrating our commitment to the industry.  In order to grow and take our business to the next level, we are looking for a self-motivated individual with turfgrass experience. The right fit for the position will have good communication, computer, and organizational skills.  This person will play a key role in managing the warehouse and inventory, arranging deliveries, day to day business operations, and sales (as time permits).  This position will be responsible for maintaining quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.  The right candidate will continually pursue professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies. It will be important for candidate to support team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.  With personal and company growth, there will be room for advancement within the company.

Job Qualifications:
-Prefer 2-4 yr degree in turfgrass, agronomy, or landscape related field
-Experience using and/or knowledge of turf related products and applications
-Clean driving record
-Basic use of computers and basic software programs
-Able to lift minimum of 75lbs
-Able to operate a forklift
-Manage and record inventory
-Setup deliveries with LTL
-Carry out deliveries throughout the metro and beyond when needed
-Opportunity for sales and duties that are involved with sales

MISSION STATEMENT


The mission of the Minnesota Turf and Grounds Foundation is to promote the green industry in Minnesota through support of research, education and outreach at the University of Minnesota and elsewhere. The MTGF pursues its mission in various ways. One of these is an annual "Call For Proposals," titled the "MTGF Research Gift Program," whereby researchers, instructors and outreach faculty and staff involved in turf and grounds work may submit requests for unrestricted gifts to support their activities. As a 501(c)(3) corporation, funding approved by the MTGF will not be subjected to overhead or other indirect charges or costs. The dates for submission, review and approval may change on an annual basis as well as the protocol stipulated for the submission of gift requests.
